Progress report

Current Mood:Here bugs… emoticon Here bugs…

Progress continues… (esp for the benefit of Cew :P)

  • Harmony:
    • Session manager now should have basic functionality working nicely, just awaiting some feedback on further upgrades.
    • The Security control panel is working, although a couple of it’s features aren’t fully wired in yet.
    • The Time control panel is also working nicely. The core now has timezones and smart date handling.
    • The bbcode system has had a major rework, providing greater flexibility and resilience … not to mention it should be faster.
    • The foundations of the new quicklink is in place and being used by the Time control panel.
    • Hopefully more updates on the control panel will be following soon.
  • The dynamic images code has also seen some updates…
    • In it’s first steps from prototype to service, the whole setup has now moved to it’s own subdomain.
    • The runescape comparator now displays your progress through the level and indicates which skills have had recent xp gains
  • After much consideration, I’ve decided the theme on Make it Funky needs further tweaking… some details about it have been annoying me.

That seems to be all I can think of for now heh.

Random stuff in the world of us.

(Note: some of the links in this post are pointing to pages still under heavy construction.)

So I’ve not been feeling so well this week… nasty evil migraines :(

But I have once again been a little lazy in my whole bloging bit, so here’s some progress updates for my non-existant readers to read…

Where to start…

Well the last post on worky stuff was … 2 months ago? bleh… so a lotta stuff to go at here.

Lets start with livepage … that’s making rather nice progress. Over the last two months a whole lotta customisability and funky features have gone in. There’s now much more interesting templating features (though they’re yet to be completed), there’s a lot more features in the sidebar … some interesting bugs have been fixed.

Yeah, LivePage is rushing on full steam ahead, and hopefully will be at release quality some time soon so I can get on with something else while the testers work their magic. Actually the code is currently up for testers… anyone intersted in joining the effort, give a shout (or leave a comment).

Chained has made some rather impressive progress in the configure/install department, and now has a much more useful configure script, which is being slowly ported to the other projects in the chained family.

Work has, slowly, started on the smtpd project … not much to talk about there yet, it almost meets the minimum implementation requirements, but sadly doesn’t actually do any mail storage as yet. Early days and all that :P

Mythica has been resurrected, and will soon be attacked to make it work well with Chained.

Speaking of resurrections, Suzi is back! ^_^

Our main website has been ported over to the new livepage code, and is looking rather nice for it.

oh, what else *scratch head*

Probably a ton of other stuff I’m missing here.

One thing I should mention is that work on Shadow Caster is slowly progressing as I get my head round inventing a new sort of physics :)
Again, if you’re interested in providing feedback, please give me a shout, or even leave a comment.

I’ll try to put more postings here more often :P

Design tweaks

Posted by: Daniel on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 at 9:38 pm.

Well I didn’t manage manage to sign off on livepage, but I have some web work done.

The blog’s design is tweaked to look a bit better, including the new intersite nav bar up in the top right which is now on most of our core sites.

I have also, at long last, completed the design for makeitfunky.co.uk, which is now just waiting for some content.
I’m quite proud of that design actually.

Anyway, should really get back to work on livepage now.

Progress?

Okie … so recent happenings… the only people that’ll read this will probably be the ones that already know all this jazz, but oh well.

First of all, we’ve been working on the admin stuff related to company formation … not quite done yet, but getting close.

We’ve been creating a photo portfolio in the idea of selling photographs… that’s progressing nicely.

LivePage is starting to shape up and hopefully version 0.0.1 will be released and signed off for the testers to beat up.

In personal life:
Sleep pattern erratic…
Eating a lot of fruit in an attempt to be more healthy…
Having fun working…
Medical status quo is maintained, but I’m putting on weight (now there’s a shocker, first time in a lot of years)
Really need to get some more exercise…

Oh and I really need to do some gaming … I’ve not logged on to FFXI for like a month … I’m freaking deprived :o
Might devote Saturday to having some fun if I manage to sign off LivePage on Friday :D
Gotta try out my nice new G11 keyboard and sharkoon 6 button 1600 dpi mouse *drool*

Mmmm, what else … oooh, I’m on signed up on ohloh … brilliant place for finding new apps and such. If any of you do sign up, be kind and give me some kudos :) I’ll post my account number or something later on.

“Do you know … preying mantis?” “You’re looking at him.”

Esp for Col … Lookie, bug tracker … you can put feature requests and stuff on it :P

In other news…

Sooo busy :(
Blood tests suck … 90 minutes sitting in a waiting room, 30 seconds of sitting in a chair pretending the nice person next to me isn’t about to stab me … 5 seconds to actually take some blood … stupid blood tests.
Got to do some administrative prep work in the next day or two … so not looking forward to that.
Thunderbird 2 + Enigmail (gpg signing and encryption) + spamato (spam killer) + the other half dozen or so extentions I’m running == email joy… now if I can just get an ldap contacts database working I’ll be happy (for all of 5 minutes

Hmmm, what else…

*dances around a bit* so yeah … should really do some work … bleh

Okie, ramble over…

*blasts some tumbleweeds*

Apparently I’ve been too quiet the past few weeks, as some nameless person pointed out to me today. *cough*Collin*cough*

So yeah … What’s been going on recently…

Mercenary Machines has made a little progress, specifically I’ve started work on cleaning up the prototype back end. This is pretty much stuff that nobody sees and, for the most part, nobody cares about. Suffice it to say that it is going to be rather cool, but probably not as quick as I’d like (since I’m having to concentrate on something more likely to make money in the short term. But never fear, it’ll get done :P

The Cell’s main site now has a funky looking logo and a design … the software driving it isn’t quite bug free yet, though fortunately most of those bugs aren’t visible. Designs are also tabled for Make It Funky and Mercenary Machines, though I’m not entirely happy with either yet, so watch this space.

Hmm, what else…?

The Cell should, if all goes to plan (plan, what plan?) should become far more “operational” soon… more on that when it isn’t [Deleted for security reasons].

Incidentally, Paranoia rocks :P

In other news, Petal and Paws now has a rather neat gallery (also linked from the sidebar).

Think that mostly covers everything … much of the past couple of weeks has been occupied by business type stuff :(
Ah well… time for sleep heh.
